SYNOPSIS
The Good Soil explores a program set up by the Focus Foundation of BC, to reunite aboriginal
youth with their more traditional roots. The successes and challenges of the project are discussed by people involved in
the program - including Herb Joe of the Sto:lo Nation, members of Focus' team, and the participants themselves. The youth
speak directly about their life challenges, and the impact that this program has had on their lives. Using innovative
production techniques that blend interviews with organic elements from the program, the film provides a clear portrait
of this powerful project.
This film was funded by the Focus Foundation of BC with support from the Department of Justice and Youth Justice Fund.
